Mit Liebe Shepherd RescueMit Liebe German Shepherd Dog Rescue began in October of 1997. In those 6 years we have 'rescued' just over 100 German Shepherd Dogs. The rescue was started because of the problem of overpopulation, not only GSDs, but all pets. German Shepherd Dogs have been a favorite breed of mine for years. The German Shepherd Dog is a loyal, brave, and beautiful companion. With our volunteers, we are trying to make a difference. The best part of rescue is seeing a dog that was sick and underweight when he came into rescue, going to his forever home, healthy and at a comfortable weight. One of the hardest parts of rescue, is saying no to a shelter or an owner surrender. NO, meaning that we just do not have any room. And if none of the rescues have room, then what happens to the dog? Our mission is to place our birds in proper homes. We are dedicated to finding new permanent homes for lost birds, unwanted birds, disabled or injured birds, pet birds whose owners can no longer provide a suitable home, breeder birds, and some sick birds. Too often birds are released or destroyed because their owners know of no other solution. Any healthy bird should have the option to live. White Paws German Shepherd RescueWhite Paws GSD Rescue is a non-profit organization founded by a small group of people dedicated to the German Shepherd Dog breed. All monies collected are put toward helping the dogs to find a better life. We conduct home visits, coordinate training, transport dogs to and from the veterinary office, conduct fund-raisers and bring dogs to select locations so they can meet the public, and the public can meet them to see what a wonderful companion they truly are. Green Acres Boxer Rescue of WisconsinGreen Acres Boxer Rescue takes in Boxers from all areas of Wisconsin. Approximately half of our incoming dogs are surrendered directly by their owners for reasons including: new baby in the house, moving, no time for the dog, allergies, etc. The other half come to us from shelters. Some shelter dogs are unclaimed strays and some are surrendered to shelters by their owners. We work closely with shelters and other rescue groups across the state. Green Acres Boxer Rescue of WI is also a member of Wisconsin Dog Rescue. Upon arrival each dog is taken to a veterinarian. They are brought current on vaccinations, heartworm tested, fecal tested, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Even if a dog is not due for any vaccinations, we still make sure that a thorough physical exam is done. We take the time to evaluate each Boxer's temperament so he/she can be placed in the best home possible. Many people ask us where we are located. The dogs are cared for in foster homes around the state. Therefore, we do not have one central location. All files and records are kept in Green Bay. We do our best to provide service to the entire state (as well as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan). Our volunteers work very hard to help Boxers in need! If you are interested in adopting, the first step is to submit an application. You must live in WI (or in the U.P. of MI) in order to adopt.
