For the Love of PetsWe are a small group of animal lovers in Southern Ohio. Unfortunately, we can't afford to pay to file for non-profit 501(c)3 status at this time and receive no government grants or charity donations (we pay for the animal care out of our paychecks). We rescue dogs from local dog pounds who are on death row through no fault of their own and we will also pick up stray pets running along the busy roads and search for their owners (usually, no owner is ever found). We have these pets fully vetted and spayed/neutered. AVALON ANIMAL RESCUEAvalon Animal Rescue are proud to announce that we began a Dog Grooming Project in 2004. This was made possible through a generous grant from the Athens Foundation. We were able to purchase professional grooming equipment as well as pay a professional groomer to come into the facility and teach the class. This project will provide the inmates with another set of job skills that can be used on the outside, while improving the quality of care for the Avalon dogs in their care. This project is open to any offender currently participating in any of the three dog programs.
