The Chequamegon Humane Association provides a safe, caring environment for homeless animals in the Chequamegon Bay Area. In addition, the shelter performs the valuable services of spaying, neutering, and vaccinating these animals prior to adopting them out. These services, along with daily maintenance and care add up quickly.

R.E.A.L. Rott Rescue is a small, private rottweiler rescue in Ashland, Ohio. We take in one or two homeless rotts at a time, and work with them in our home to assess personality, temperament, training, and needs, then place them up for adoption. Our goal is to find not just any home for each dog, but the perfect match for both the dog, and its new family.

We're a relatively small facility usually housing ~15-20 cats and ~10 dogs. There are lots of wonderful things about our facility; two being that we tend to get a lot of smaller dogs and we almost always have kittens! Lots of the animals on our page are from private homes that have either privately rescued these animals or, due to extenuating circumstaces, can no longer keep them. We do not accept owner surrenders, but we are dedicated to trying to find all needy animals homes.

The CCAAF is a non-profit, no-kill, all volunteer network for abandoned, neglected and unwanted pets. The need for services for these animals is extremely pronounced since Cheatham Co. currently has no municipal animal control services and no shelter in which to house animals. In May of 2003, our volunteer organization's working name was changed to Cheatham Animal Rescue Effort (C.A.R.E.) to better represent our volunteer rescuers, foster parents and adoption counselors.
