HSMC works closely with Madison County Correctional Institute in a foster care/training program. This is where inmates foster our dogs and teach them basic commands and housebreak them. The HSMC works hard in trying to place all adopted animals

Second Chance Pet Adoptions is a non-profit 501 C charitable organization that was formed to promote humane treatment and quality of life for all felines, reduce pet overpopulation and provide pet adoption services. We feel it is important to educate prospective owners and the general public about pet overpopulation and enforce a very strict spay/neuter policy for all our adopted pets. All of our cats live in "foster homes" or with their owners until they are adopted. Second Chance Pet Adoptions has no paid employees and does not receive funding from any government agency. We are staffed entirely by volunteers and obtain funds solely from adoption fees and donations. !

Sparky and the Gang is a not-for-profit charitable group working to rescue dogs and place them in safe, loving homes. Group volunteers rescue primarily dogs but sometimes cats from local pounds, off the streets and from unsuitable homes. We also pull dogs off Los Angeles freeways and from areas in downtown Los Angeles and South Central. Our group works from different areas in Los Angeles and Orange County and most animals are kenneled, although some animals live in foster care. All group members work on a volunteer basis and most have full-time jobs separate from this organization

Basset Hound Rescue of Southern California (BHRSC) takes in homeless and neglected basset hounds, has them spayed or neutered, and provides appropriate veterinary care and vaccinations. They are then placed in foster homes (or boarded, if no foster homes are available). We seek loving homes where they will spend their remaining years cuddling, eating, drooling, resting, playing, and socializing with people and other family pets.
