In 2002 the shelter served nearly 5,000 homeless or unwanted animals. But there is good news. We are very proud to have an adoption rate which exceeds the ASPCA national average. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DOBERMAN PINSCHER RESCUEWhile Rita rescues mostly Dobermans she rescues other big dogs because they are the hardest to place. "But most all of the dogs are Dobermans, that's where my heart lies." says Rita. She is also a foster mom for the local Humane Society for common wild birds. She hand feeds them until they are ready to be released.
