(P.A.W.S.) is a small non-profit organization in Platte County, Wyoming, dedicated to the safety and comfort of its four-legged residents. Our Mission is to encourage spaying and neutering and to provide education, placement, transportation, advice, and ideas to promote the welfare and well being of all animals in Platte County. Since our inception, P.A.W.S. has become the first resource to contact to have a pet spayed or neutered, to find a missing pet, to place an unwanted pet, to rescue a stray or injured animal, or to adopt a new companion. In addition to providing rescue and placement services, we offer a variety of community activities to assist the public in solving problems with their pets, including Canine Obedience Training Classes. American Eskimo Dog RescueThe American Eskimo Dog Rescue is a local chapter of Heartbandits, a national volunteer organization that is dedicated to finding the “right� home for Eskies who are lost, abandoned or abused. We care for dogs of every age group. When rescued, our Eskies are vet checked, given necessary vaccinations and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Our Eskies reside with their volunteer foster family and are evaluated for temperament, training and behavior issues. If we do not have an Eskie that meets your needs, we may know of Eskies in other rescues/shelters and will gladly share that information. Potential adopters are screened to ensure that their lifestyle and home are right for each individual dog. A home visit and follow-up are required to ensure that the placement is appropriate. Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network - Mid WestWe are NOT A SHELTER with a single physical location. Instead, we are a NATIONAL network of volunteers working to help re-home Cairns in need. We began as a small internet community of people trying to help one of their members through the heartache of losing a little Cairn named Col. Potter. In the weeks that followed that simple process of showing care and support, a national Cairn terrier rescue was born. It filled a void to serve a wonderful, randomly protected, and sometimes misunderstood breed. Cairns can have every kind of personality, from laid back to intensely lively; most fall somewhere in between. Our rescue attracts caring foster homes who will provide guidance and love; sometimes for the first time in a rescued Cairns life. Our foster homes also provide an honest, realistic evaluation of each Cairns personality, so an approved applicant can expect to be matched with a Cairn whose traits and behaviors fit their lifestyle.
