Multnomah Irish Setter AssociationAs originally proposed, the club was formed to foster interest in and promote the purebred Irish Setter and to encourage sportsmanlike competition between Setter owners; as well as to educate the public and owners concerning breed standards, training, breeding, care, exhibition, and field performance. The majority of the membership is Irish Setter owners, though not all, and the membership includes people from Oregon, Washington, and Idaho – people from all walks of life. From the outset, we have endeavored to have activities and programs that would reach most everyone; education about the breed, its strengths and weaknesses; health problems; breeding; field training; special events such as matches and fun trials; and pure fellowship with persons united by a common interest in Irish Setters.
