Pender County Animal ControlPender County Animal Control is a small rural shelter that is located in a big county. Pender Co. is 900 sq. miles of country roads and beaches, stretching east from Topsail Island to west of HWY 421 and south from the New Hanover county line to north at the Onslow and Duplin county lines. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The shelter is located in Burgaw, NC. about 25 miles north of Wilmington, NC. We are a fiscally challenged county shelter. This is the dog pound. Pendleton Animal Welfare ShelterPendleton Animal Welfare Shelter (PAWS) of Pendleton Co., WV was formed in April, 2005 by a group of concerned Pendleton County residents. There has never been an animal shelter in Pendleton prior, not even a dog pound! We have been able to save some pets over this time, but would like to increase our capacity and effectiveness because there are many more pets we are unable to help due to a lack of funding and we are the only option for homeless animals in Pendleton. Though we are are relatively new, we do have our 501 (c) (3) tax exempt status, so all donations are tax deductible and used to pay veterinary bills and basic costs like phone, supplies, kennels & crates.
