Second Chance Alaskan Malamute Program, INC. (SCAMP)SCAMP has been giving Malamutes a Second Chance at the life of love and happiness that every pet deserves since 1990. Originally called WI Alaskan Malamute Rescue, SCAMP became incorporated in 1998 as a non-profit organization for the following reasons: To attempt to reunite Malamutes with their owners, assist breeders willing to take them back, and to aid in relocating unwanted Malamutes in permanent, appropriate adoptive homes. To create a network that will keep track of dogs who are lost or found and are being kept in foster homes or shelters, and to keep track of people interested in adopting and volunteers for foster homes. To work to prevent cruelty to Malamutes and all dogs by educating the public about responsible care, including spay/neuter and in the training of their dogs. SCAMP is operated by a group of volunteers and our foster homes/kennels are scattered throughout the state of Wisconsin. We provide most of the necessary medical care and vaccines before adoption. All dogs are spayed/neutered, and are temperament tested before adoption. Central Carolina Poodle ClubCarolina Poodle Rescue is a no-kill/limited entry private rescue group; we believe and support the No More Homeless Pets and spay/neuter initiatives. All animals adopted from Carolina Poodle are spayed or neutered before being placed. We provide sanctuary and rehabilitation and, when the right home comes along, rehome poodles and other needy small dogs. We maintain a waiting list of homes and most of our animals are placed form this list. Our efforts are funded solely through adoption fees and donations. Like all humane groups, MAGDRL is in the unique position of helping both humans and pets. American Brittany RescueAmerican Brittany Rescue was formed in 1991 as a cooperative effort of Brittany owners, breeders, trialers, & fanciers who believe we have a responsibility not only for our own dogs and the dogs we produce, but for our breed as a whole. Because many rescue dogs can be traced 1-3 generations back to a recognized breeder, we believe all breeders should take it upon themselves to assist Brittanys in need, in any way they can. Tarheel Weimaraner RescueThe Tarheel Weimaraner Club has a very active Rescue Program. We have rescued and placed over 700 Weimaraners in the last 15 years. We do not agree that there is a shortage of Weimaraners! Our rescue program tries hard to match the right dog to the right owner, and we have been very successful for that reason. We get the dogs in a variety of ways, such as from shelters, or from owners who are divorcing and moving to an apartment that doesn't allow dogs. All of our dogs are vet checked, spayed or neutered, housebroken and crate-trained. We also refer people to others wishing to place their own dog.
