Jefferson County Dog ControlWe are a municipal dog shelter in Jefferson County, which employs seven people. We are responsible for the enforcement of NYS and some local dog laws, shelter services, care of stray, injured and abandoned dogs. We also assist the local Public Health Dept with the rabies program. Our facility can house up to 50 dogs at any one time. Our shelter is the primary abuse investigation organization, and is the site of the only early-age spay/neuter before adoption program in Jefferson county.
