CAPCA was formed by a group of citizens who are dedicated to reducing the killing of animals due to indiscriminate breeding. We promote spay/neuter initiatives so that someday in the future, euthanasia will not be used as a means of population control for unwanted domesticated animals. We advocate the adoption and re-homing of adoptable animals. Our goals include 1)education of the benefits of altering companion animals, 2)creating an alliance with shelters in the Carolinas in order to rescue adoptable animals that may not be adoptable in a shelter environment, 3)providing safe haven for unwanted animals until a permanent home can be found. This includes providing all necessary medical care and altering every animal prior to adoption.

Operation C.A.R.E. (Carolina Animal Rescue Effort) is a non-profit, all volunteer animal welfare organization. Our mission is to minimize the need for euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets in local Carolina shelters by providing a low-cost spay/neuter option to people in the community and by providing temporary care for homeless animals until they can be placed in quality permanent homes. Our Rescue-Adoption Program focuses primarily on the rescue of animals from area shelters. However, we do attempt to help Good Samaritans in the community who have found homeless or abandoned animals who are destined for shelters. Donations make it possible for us to continue our efforts. We are solely supported by donations and adoption fees. Animals up for adoption through Operation C.A.R.E. have been fully vaccinated and spayed or neutered. Dogs have been tested for heartworms and cats have been tested for FeLV and FIV. These animals are cared for in foster homes where their personality and behavior can be assessed for the most appropriate permanent home.

Carolina Boxer Rescue, Inc. is a volunteer run, 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving both North and South Carolina. We are run by a board of directors and follow all state laws, as well as abide by the Code of Ethics set forth by the American Boxer Rescue Association (http://www.abra.rescuegroups.com/)
Our Boxers come to us from shelters, humane societies and directly from owners. They enter into volunteer foster homes throughout both NC and SC. They live indoors with the foster family and other pets. Each Boxer receives a complete physical, immunizations, sterilization, heartworm test and is treated for any illnesses or diseases it may have. We evaluate temperament to ensure that each Boxer we rescue will make a good family pet. These evaluations are achieved through living with the dog and watching him/her interact with our other pets, our children and adults. We test the dog for aggression issues and identify any behavior problems. Each dog learns basic house manners, is crate and also house trained. We do not take in or place dogs with known human aggression issues.
