We are a volunteer group that founded the St. John Humane Society in late 1991. Our services include: conducting animal rescues, adoptions, owner/pet reuinifications, educational programs, spay/neuter incentive programs, and a pet question/answer line. Currently, all our adoptable pets are residing with volunteers (foster homes) or in private boarding kennels. A processed application and appointment is required prior to visiting with any of our pets.

St. Louis Schnauzer Rescue is an all volunteer, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit organization that places unwanted or abandoned schnauzers into pre-screened homes. Most of the dogs we rescue come from shelters, although we do occasionally have dogs that were turned in by their owners for various reasons.

The St. Louis Senior Dog Project is a not-for-profit 501c3 corporation. Our mission is to rescue the not-so-young homeless dogs that are often overlooked at most animal shelters. We have shown that people will adopt and love older dogs. We look for dogs that are usually 5 years and older although we also take younger dogs , and the occasional puppy or cat. We frequently place our pets with senior citizens although being a senior is not a requirement for adopting our dogs.

The St. Martin Humane Society was founded in April 1999 by a group of concerned citizens. The Society obtained a 501 (c3) tax exemption status in June 2000 and relies on community support and fund raising to fulfill its mission. We have pets for adoption from different sources (strays, owner released...) and we rely solely on foster homes for the animal in our care. We also work very hard to try to reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals in the area served by the Society through low cost and free spay-neuter programs. Because we neither have a facility nor employees, all the money we raised is used for the pets in our care and our spay/neuter program.
