German Shepherd Etc was established in May of 2004. Our organization consists of over 100 members located all over the world. We are proud to step forward and fight for the need's of Man's best friend, the dog
We are not fanatics, we want to help. We are here to give advice and to lend an ear. We are here to train you to train your dog and if that still doesn't work, we will help you to find a home for your dog, so that this gorgeous, precious gift doesn't have to suffer.
We plan to concentrate our efforts on the larger breeds. But, with our huge network of dog lovers, we are happy to help with any dog.

We are a very small group of volunteers. Our 1st priority is to rescue "last day" dogs from local animal shelters. We do not have a kennel or a facility to house the dogs and depend on volunteers to provided foster homes.

On March 30, 2001, German Shepherd Rescue Alliance of Wisconsin, Inc. (GSRAW) was incorporated, although operations had begun in the support of the defined mission more than one year prior. GSRAW has no shelter and operates utilizing a phone, post office box, e-mail and internet networking systems. Occasionally boarding kennels are options used to save an animal's life. Although GSRAW has only been in operation for 5 years, collectively our members have many years of experience in evaluating temperaments, fostering, placing and training German Shepherd Dogs.
GSRAW views its mission as increasing public awareness against animal cruelty and overpopulation while rescuing and finding homes for displaced and unwanted German Shepherd Dogs throughout Wisconsin and further, if needed. GSRAW has a long-term dedication to this breed and its fair and humane treatment.
Our organization provides rescue, support, and placement of unwanted or displaced German Shepherd Dogs regardless of age, size, sex and health. GSRAW will seek work with shelters, veterinary offices and private individuals to achieve these goals.
GSRAW is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible.

The German Shepherd Rescue is dedicated to saving as many dogs as it can effectively care for. The Rescue primarily concentrates on rescuing German Shepherds although it does occasionally take other breeds and mixed breeds. The Rescue carefully screens adopters so that the available dogs can be matched up with the most suitable homes. The Rescue has successfully helped hundreds of dogs since it was founded in October of 1992. The Rescue has also helped hundreds of additional dogs be placed with other rescue groups. As the Rescue continues to grow, so will the number of dogs and puppies that can be saved.

German Shepherd Rescue of Central Alabama is an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit rescue organization. We rescue German Shepherds out of shelters and from abusive situations. We take in abandoned and stray dogs, and we take owner surrenders as space allows. All dogs are neutered or spayed, current on shots and have tested negative for heartworms before they are placed in their forever home. These dogs are kept in private homes and will be shown by appointment only. We do our best to help out any German Shepherd dog in need (primarily in the state of Alabama); unfortunately, we have finite space, and it takes time and money to get some of these babies up to good health and full adoption status. We also help people who are having problems with their German Shepherds. We would like to help owners work through the problems rather than have to give their dog up.

This rescue is run by volunteers and could not exist without the dedicated people providing foster homes for the dogs and puppies, the superb veterinarian care provided by Dr. Amy Huff, Animal Clinic of Leesburg, the behaviorial and psychological services of Dr. Terry Marie Curtis, University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, and the Chuang family for providing housing for our overflow dogs at Red Woof Inn. Dogs accepted into this rescue live in a family environment as a pack member whenever possible while awaiting adoption to their forever home. Therefore, we need more foster homes for our dogs and puppies. Please volunteer today and help a German Shepherd Dog.
