The Animal Control Division was established in 1935 when there was a Dog Warden, but in 1991 it was renamed Animal Control due to the arrival of the rabies virus which had been steadily moving up the East Coast. Companions for Life is a non profit 501c3 ,,registered with the secretary of state, animal rescue group dedicated to the welfare of animals. We are a private rescue ,not a (public facility ),providing foster care with 16 private homes,within Connecticut- Massachutes- New Jersey and Virginia..7 days a week, 24 hours, to include (emergencies) within homes of families where our animals are socialized with people and other animals prior to adoption. We also provide veterinarian care for all of our animals, age appropriate,focusing our attention to the sick and injured. Our group has been in existence since 1997 and survives on donations only. Anyone wishing to adopt an animal or donate goods (food, blankets, crates, collars, leashes, or monetary gifts) can contact our organization.
